I am Bill Wall, the owner of DIRECT APPROACH. I have been a resident of Visalia, CA since November of 1987. I moved here to join with a friend to build ProStar Corporation, a printed circuit board manufacturing operation. ProStar Corporation was sold to Toppan West in 1990. At that time, I started DIRECT APPROACH.

DIRECT APPROACH has been serving the computing needs of Visalia, and surrounding areas since January of 1990. In the computer business, over 18 years is an eternity. I attribute the success of DIRECT APPROACH to my dedication to helping my customers, and solving their problems.

A very large portion of my customers have been with me since the beginning. Their loyalty has been a major factor in my longevity, and has kept me enthusiastic about the computer business. It is these same long standing customers that bring me most of my new business by recommendation and word-of-mouth advertising. I am deeply grateful to each and every one.

I have been running DIRECT APPROACH since 1990, but I have been involved with electronics, computers, and programming for much longer. I learned electronics to build recording equipment to record my music (another side of me, check out www.billywall.com). And, in 1977 I went to work for Nueva Engineering in Baltimore. This was my entry into the computer/electronics world. Nueva Engineering manufactured printed circuit boards, and I soon immersed myself in the technology both of the product and the requirements of manufacturing. It was in an effort to improve manufacturing control and information that I started to write computer programs.

I developed all sorts of programs in languages that included BASIC, DEC PDP11 assembly language, FORTRAN, Pascal, C, C++, Modula 2, Intel x86 assembly language, etc., This combination of computer experience, including the hardware side, as well as, the software side has put me in an especially good position from which to serve my customers. I can usually solve any type of computer problem that is thrown my way, and I am not too proud to seek help when I am stumped; the most important thing is for my clients computer needs to be satisfied.

The future holds much more in the form of networking for both large and small businesses. Businesses are more interconnected every day. And the potential for business-to-business connection opportunities grows at a fast pace. I have embraced the network systems based on the Windows operating systems, which provide the best value and functionality for today's interconnected world, while, at the same time, being easier to manage and lowering costs.
